Grandstream GSC3565 smart outdoor video intercom

Evaluate the GSC3565 as a PoE+ outdoor SIP video intercom whose camera, call, QR, API, relay, alarm and cloud-management paths require separate acceptance.

Unlisted fields remain unverified. Platform compatibility and remaining support life require confirmation for the exact ordered model.

Choose the video model without transferring sibling claims

The GSC3565 is the video member of the GSC3560/GSC3565 pair. Its 4 MP HDR camera, H.264 video, Motion JPEG, supplemental white LEDs, QR unlock and video-specific alarms are not features of the audio-only GSC3560. Conversely, the family datasheet marks AI noise suppression as a GSC3560-only feature; do not copy it to the GSC3565.

The datasheet also labels centralized access-control compatibility as pending and describes distress-keyword audio analytics as in development. Neither belongs in a purchase requirement or acceptance claim until the exact released firmware, management platform and documentation establish it.

Keep call, video, unlock and alarm evidence separate

The station can originate SIP communication and lists SIP or multicast paging, while the camera, QR workflow, HTTP API, SecureAccess application, two relay outputs and alarm inputs create other paths. For each accepted workflow, record the authenticated actor, triggering event, PBX or platform, command, physical output, door state and retained audit event. A visible video call does not prove that an unlock command is authorized, and a relay click does not prove the opening is safe.

The datasheet lists snapshot upload, local card storage and cloud or app alarm synchronization. Define the controller of recordings and access logs, allowed viewers, retention and deletion before enabling those paths. Treat Home Assistant as another integration trust boundary rather than evidence of universal compatibility.

Engineer both relays and the complete door circuit

The GSC3565 exposes an auxiliary electromechanical relay and a second solid-state relay described for anti-magnetic resistance, plus two alarm inputs and RS-485. Obtain the current installation guide and exact terminal ratings before connecting a strike, maglock, siren, sensor or controller. Preserve the responsible access-control panel, fire-alarm release, request-to-exit and door-position functions instead of assuming the intercom replaces them.

Decide fail-safe or fail-secure behavior with the qualified door and life-safety design. Test authorized release, denied access, held or forced door, network loss, PBX loss, cloud or app loss, loss and restoration of power, and manual or emergency egress under the approved test procedure.

Commission the installed camera, audio and enclosure

The manufacturer lists IP66, IK10 including the lens area, a −40°C to 70°C operating range, wall, pole and flush mounting, dual microphones and a 10 W speaker. These are product specifications, not proof of field of view, intelligibility, optical coverage, weather sealing, impact resistance or suitable mounting after installation. Inspect cable entry, drainage, condensation, grounding, surge exposure, structure and maintenance access at the site.

Validate representative callers at the intended height and distance, including backlight and night conditions, ambient noise and any induction-loop or external-speaker path. Set broadcast levels with the responsible safety and facilities owners; a headline sound-pressure figure is not an instruction to operate at maximum output.

Freeze firmware and management ownership before enrollment

Grandstream listed general firmware 1.0.1.8 for both models at review. Record the purchased hardware, approved firmware and management owner, then decide whether local web administration, GDMS UC, GDMS SecureAccess, the SecureAccess app or a third-party integration is authoritative. Disable or restrict unused services and verify administrator recovery, certificate trust, provisioning protection, mobile-device removal and update rollback.

Commission SIP signaling and negotiated media, video delivery, each permitted unlock method, alarms, relay and sensor behavior, storage, logs, restart and outage recovery independently. No device, camera, microphone, speaker, PoE path, DC supply, PBX, cloud service, integration, door circuit, environmental rating, emergency function, availability, price or support response was tested for this guide.

Keep outdoor intercom and indoor control roles separate

The GSC3570 facility control station can monitor communications and facility devices, while an outdoor intercom remains a separate endpoint, camera, credential and physical installation. Validate each call, stream and control action without transferring environmental or I/O specifications between models.
