Unlisted fields remain unverified. Platform compatibility and remaining support life require confirmation for the exact ordered model.
Keep the exact variant visible
The GHP630 is the white, non-W member of Grandstream's GHP63x group. The current product comparison lists no Wi-Fi for this model, one 10/100 Ethernet port with integrated PoE Class 2, two SIP accounts and two lines. The GHP630W adds Wi-Fi 6 and a local-adapter option; the GHP631 and GHP631W are black variants. Do not transfer the radio, power supply, color or package contents between them.
The GHP630 is a SIP endpoint, not a hotel PBX or property-management system. Record the exact SKU, hardware revision, firmware, PBX or hosted service, provisioning owner, room and extension.
Map the display and keys to room services
The datasheet specifies a 3.5-inch 480 × 320 color display, six context-sensitive soft keys, ten configurable digit-key speed dials, five function keys and volume or mute controls. Translate those controls into an approved room workflow and preserve a test case for every label or screen action.
A key count does not establish simultaneous-call capacity, and a customized label does not prove the dialplan. Verify front desk, service, room-to-room, restricted external and emergency routes independently, including night and overflow behavior.
Resolve the conference-documentation conflict
The product page and family datasheet advertise three-way audio conferencing. The current GHP6xx FAQ says the GHP63x exception does not support call conference. Preserve that conflict rather than selecting the more attractive claim. Test the intended conference workflow on the exact firmware and PBX, or exclude it from the requirement until Grandstream clarifies the documents.
Likewise, a manufacturer claim that its jitter-resilience algorithm tolerates a stated packet-loss level is not an independent call-quality result. Validate Opus and every selected codec under the real network policy without reproducing that figure as a measured outcome.
Treat PoE and USB charging as separate budgets
Grandstream's FAQ says the non-W GHP630 relies on PoE and does not include a power adapter. The datasheet lists PoE Class 2 and a USB Type-C port for charging an external device; the FAQ scopes that output to 500 mA. Include the phone and charging load in the switch's port and total PoE budget, then observe restart and call behavior when an attached device begins charging.
The USB port is a charging output, not evidence of a headset, storage, network or service interface. Confirm the room cable, jack, switch port, VLAN and backup-power path before installation.
Own provisioning, security and lifecycle
The family documentation lists GDMS, TR-069 and file-based provisioning, unified firmware for the four GHP63x variants, TLS, SRTP, HTTPS, 802.1X, secure boot and encrypted configuration controls. These are available mechanisms, not a deployed security result. Choose one authoritative provisioning path, protect administrator recovery and verify certificates, transport, media and configuration delivery separately.
The current firmware table lists the GHP630 family and the user and administration guides are versioned to firmware 1.0.1.50. Record the approved version rather than silently following a beta feed, and pilot update, rollback, factory reset, tenant release and room turnover. Confirm current regional availability, ordering, support and price without inferring them from the product page. No hardware, display, key, codec, conferencing, PoE, USB, PBX, GDMS, provisioning, protected-media, emergency, accessibility, availability, price or support-period behavior was tested for this guide.
Compare the sibling without transferring its W features
The GHP631W is a black sibling with Wi-Fi 6 and a supplied local-adapter path. Those traits do not belong to this white, wired GHP630. The two references share the family documentation and its conference conflict while preserving exact color, radio, power and package evidence.
Use the four-SKU family matrix
The family is now documented as GHP630 white wired, GHP630W white Wi-Fi 6, GHP631 black wired and GHP631W black Wi-Fi 6. Color, radio, local-adapter and package evidence follows the exact label.
