Grandstream GHP630W white Wi-Fi 6 hotel phone

Assess the white GHP630W as a Wi-Fi 6 or PoE guest-room SIP phone without transferring black-model, wired-only or package details from its siblings.

Keep the white W variant attached to its label

The GHP630W is the white model with integrated dual-band Wi-Fi 6. The GHP631W is its black W sibling; the GHP630 and GHP631 are white and black wired-only siblings. Preserve that matrix in inventory, spares, room standards and support records. A shared GHP63x firmware family or display does not make color, radio, local-adapter and package details interchangeable.

Record the chassis label, regional package, hardware revision, firmware, room, extension, PBX and provisioning owner. Confirm current inventory and certification for the purchasing region rather than inferring them from a live global product page.

Choose Wi-Fi or Ethernet without hiding power

The W suffix adds Wi-Fi 6 and a supplied 12 VDC, 0.5 A adapter path, while the phone retains one 10/100 Ethernet port with PoE Class 2. For Wi-Fi, validate association, authentication, VLAN, DNS, time, SIP registration and RTP under representative room conditions. For Ethernet, validate the jack, switch policy and PoE budget.

A wireless data link does not remove the local-power dependency, and PoE does not prove that the switch has backup power. Document the selected network and power path and its failure behavior. Keep the USB-C output within the documented 500 mA external-charging boundary.

Translate keys and accounts into room workflows

The published two SIP accounts and two lines are identities and appearances, not two accepted concurrent calls. Six soft keys and ten configurable digit-key speed dials are interface counts, not proof of a front-desk, service or emergency route.

Map each displayed label and key to an approved dial-plan result. Test room identity, caller identity, restricted dialing, night and overflow behavior, inbound callback and emergency location after provisioning and after a room swap.

Do not resolve conflicting conference evidence by preference

The product page and version 5.2025 v2 datasheet advertise three-way audio conferencing, while the current family FAQ says the GHP63x exception does not support conference. Keep that conflict visible. Exclude conference from a requirement unless exact-firmware and PBX acceptance establishes the intended workflow or Grandstream clarifies the record.

The product page's packet-loss tolerance is also a manufacturer claim rather than measured audio quality. Validate the selected codec and installed network policy separately.

Accept the complete room lifecycle

Test startup, managed provisioning, the chosen network and power paths, inbound and outbound calls, service keys, hold, transfer, speaker, mute, loss and recovery, reset, tenant release, data clearing and reassignment. Verify TLS, SRTP and management state on the active path rather than from a feature list.

No GHP630W, package, adapter, Wi-Fi, Ethernet, PoE, USB load, display, key, PBX, provisioning path, protected session, emergency route, firmware, price, availability, compatibility, audio, conference or call was inspected or tested for this reference.
