Unlisted fields remain unverified. Platform compatibility and remaining support life require confirmation for the exact ordered model.

Build the common-area workload before selecting the handset

AudioCodes positions the C436HD as a Teams-native entry model for common areas. That positioning does not create a resource account, assign a licence, restrict the directory, apply a phone policy, provision PSTN service or establish emergency location. Define whether the position is shared, common area or assigned, then document its identity, privacy and calling requirements.

Validate boot, sign-in, locked state, directory exposure, outbound identity, inbound reachability, voicemail, transfer and sign-out recovery with the intended account. A visible Teams interface proves neither the resource-account configuration nor the public calling route.

Treat the integrated sidecar as a policy-driven interface

The integrated sidecar provides more visible keys and contacts, but it is not an additional SIP registration, carrier line, queue member or concurrency grant. Labels, presence, destinations and calling actions depend on the Teams application, signed-in account and tenant policy.

Map every required speed dial, monitored contact, pickup, park and transfer task to a specific key and expected state. Test page changes, stale presence, locked state, restart and failed transfer recovery; record the action and observed result rather than inferring workflow capacity from the number of buttons.

Keep certification and installed software as separate records

Microsoft listed Android 12 certification with reference firmware 2.7.324 and an August 15, 2028 end date. Its public-cloud table separately listed 2.7.565 (AOSP), released August 24, 2026, for a group that includes the C436HD. The certification row is not a downgrade instruction, and the later release is not evidence that one phone received it.

Capture Android, phone firmware, Teams client, Intune, Authenticator and Admin Agent versions from the device and management plane. Recheck current tables before purchase or update because certification and application support can change independently.

Prove headset, power and network paths

AudioCodes documents USB headset support plus PoE or external power. Connector presence does not establish headset call control, sufficient switch power or a healthy Teams session. Confirm the exact handset, supply, cable, switch port and headset as separate inventory items.

Test answer, mute, volume, hold and transfer through every approved audio path. Preserve negotiated power, VLAN, addressing, DNS, time, certificate, sign-in and call evidence. A powered display is only one checkpoint in that chain.

Assign management and change ownership

AudioCodes Device Manager and Teams admin center expose different layers. Decide which team owns inventory, configuration, tenant policy, firmware, diagnostics and retirement, and document how conflicting status is resolved before anyone changes the phone merely to make one portal look current.

Restrict administrative access, protect exports and remove temporary diagnostics. An online state in either portal does not prove the correct identity, licence, policy, PSTN route or two-way audio.

Pilot ordinary and emergency calling as different evidence

Run an authorized pilot covering cold boot, sign-in, policy arrival, directory, inbound and outbound identity, hold, transfer, voicemail, sidecar actions, approved headset, update, restart and power or network recovery. Validate emergency location and calling only through the provider-approved process and maintain an independent emergency path.

No C436HD, regional SKU, tenant, account, licence, policy, switch, headset, firmware, application bundle, management service, protected session, emergency route, availability, compatibility, price, audio result or live call was inspected or tested for this reference.
