Unlisted fields remain unverified. Platform compatibility and remaining support life require confirmation for the exact ordered model.

Choose the workload before treating it as a common-area phone

AudioCodes positions the C435HD as an entry-level Teams-native phone and describes personal and common-area uses. That positioning does not configure a shared resource account, licence, calling policy, number or privacy boundary. Record whether the position is assigned, shared or common area, then build the identity and policy for that exact workload.

Confirm which directory, call history, voicemail and sign-out controls may appear. A compact physical-key interface can suit a shared task, but only an authorized tenant pilot can establish that the required dial, answer, hold, transfer, mute and recovery actions remain clear under the applied policy.

Keep certification and running software as two records

Microsoft listed Android 12 certification with reference firmware 2.1.673 and an August 15, 2028 end date. Its public-cloud history separately listed 2.7.565 (AOSP), released August 24, 2026, for a group that includes the C435HD. The certification reference is not an instruction to downgrade, and the later release is not proof that one phone received it.

Capture Android, phone firmware, Teams client, Intune, Authenticator and Admin Agent versions from the device and management plane. Recheck the live tables before purchase or update because certification, application support and firmware publication can change independently.

Validate physical keys and account policy together

The version 2.7 specification documents a 4.3-inch non-touch colour display, navigation controls and six programmable function keys. The labels and backlights are hardware inputs; destination, presence, directory and calling behavior still depend on the signed-in account, Teams application and policy.

Test the intended tasks with representative users, including cold boot, sign-in, locked state, inbound call, outbound call, hold, transfer, voicemail, speaker and handset. Preserve the action and observed result rather than assuming that a documented Teams feature is exposed in every tenant mode.

Budget power and approve each headset path

AudioCodes documents dual Gigabit Ethernet, 12 V DC, IEEE 802.3af PoE Class 2, RJ-9 and USB headset interfaces. It also notes that a loud USB speakerphone requires an external supply. Confirm the exact power source, switch budget, cable, headset and user controls instead of treating connector presence as compatibility.

Test answer, mute, volume, hold and transfer through every approved headset. Check VLAN, addressing, DNS, time and certificate dependencies on the actual port. Neither a powered screen nor a paired accessory proves a healthy Teams sign-in or two-way call.

Assign management and evidence ownership

The manual identifies Teams admin center and AudioCodes management tooling as distinct surfaces. Decide which owns inventory, configuration, policy, diagnostics, logs and firmware. Investigate disagreements between views before changing the phone simply to make one portal look current.

Protect exported logs and screen captures, restrict administrative access and remove temporary diagnostics. An online status in either portal does not prove identity, licence, calling policy, PSTN route or audio.

Pilot calling and recovery end to end

For an authorized pilot, record exact part number and versions, then verify enrollment, sign-in, policy arrival, directory, inbound and outbound identity, mute, hold, transfer, voicemail, approved headset, update, restart and power or network recovery. Keep ordinary calling, emergency location and provider-approved emergency validation as separate evidence.

No C435HD, regional SKU, tenant, account, licence, switch, headset, firmware, application bundle, management service, protected session, emergency route, availability, compatibility, price, audio result or live call was inspected or tested for this reference.
