Documented specifications
Grandstream · Grandstream retained the GRP2670 in its live GRP catalogue and current firmware table at review. Hardware revision, regional stock, approved image, accessory pairing, provider certification and remaining support period remain deployment-specific.
| Specification | Documented value |
|---|---|
| Lines and SIP accounts | 12 lines and 16 SIP accounts; neither count establishes simultaneous calls, provider channels or visible physical line keys Source ↗ |
| Display and virtual keys | 7-inch 1024×600 capacitive touch display and 48 virtual multi-purpose keys; page layout and simultaneous visibility require the installed user interface Source ↗ |
| Published conferencing | Five-way audio conferencing; device, PBX and service bridge roles still require exact-service acceptance Source ↗ |
| Network and power | Dual Gigabit Ethernet with integrated IEEE 802.3af PoE; the datasheet also lists an included 12 V adapter Source ↗ |
| Wi-Fi hardware boundary | Dual-band Wi-Fi 6 is documented only for hardware version 5.0 and above; firmware cannot turn an earlier radio into that hardware Source ↗ |
| Bluetooth and headset paths | Integrated Bluetooth, RJ9/EHS support for documented Plantronics paths and USB-headset support; each exact accessory remains an acceptance item Source ↗ |
| GBX20 expansion | GBX20 datasheet lists GRP2670 compatibility, 40 contacts per module and up to 160 across four modules; two or more modules require the included module PSU Source ↗ |
| Signalling, media and management controls | Datasheet lists TLS, SRTP, HTTPS, 802.1X, secure boot, encrypted configuration and GDMS/TR-069 provisioning; capability is not installed-state or end-to-end evidence Source ↗ |
| Current public firmware record | Grandstream listed 1.0.13.127 as general firmware and 1.0.15.19 as beta at review; the beta lane requires transition firmware 2.0.15.0 when moving from 1.0.13.x or 1.0.11.x Source ↗ |
Unlisted fields remain unverified. Platform compatibility and remaining support life require confirmation for the exact ordered model.
Keep lines, identities and visible actions separate
Grandstream publishes 12 lines, 16 SIP accounts and 48 virtual multi-purpose keys. These are different resources. They do not establish 12 concurrent calls, 48 physical keys, 48 simultaneously visible targets or the service provider's channel entitlement. Preserve the account map, line use, key pages and call limits separately.
The product page lists five-way audio conferencing, while the datasheet lists hold, transfer, park, pickup and shared or bridged appearances. Determine which function the phone performs locally and which depends on the PBX or hosted service. Pilot each required action with the intended account and firmware instead of treating the feature list as an interoperable result.
Read Wi-Fi 6 from the hardware label
Grandstream limits the published dual-band Wi-Fi 6 capability to hardware version 5.0 and above. Capture the exact product label and hardware revision before purchasing, provisioning or comparing wireless performance. A software update, product-family page or similar enclosure does not upgrade an earlier radio.
Commission wired and wireless paths separately. For Ethernet, retain switch port, VLAN, LLDP, DHCP, DNS, time, PoE and UPS evidence. For Wi-Fi, retain band, SSID, authentication, coverage, roaming and recovery evidence. A registered phone on one path does not prove the other path or a call through a network transition.
Treat GBX20 scale as a complete workstation
The current GBX20 datasheet lists the GRP2670 as a supported host and publishes 40 contacts per module with up to four modules and 160 contacts. The same source says one module can be host-powered for the documented host cases and two or more require the included 12 V module supply. Host compatibility, module count, connector chain, power and loaded firmware remain one acceptance set.
Map visible targets and page changes before purchase. Test idle, ringing, active and unavailable lamp states, attended and blind transfer, failed-transfer recovery, park and pickup, restart and reprovisioning. Contact positions are not lines, subscriptions, simultaneous calls or authorization rights.
Keep general and beta firmware lanes distinct
Grandstream's firmware index listed 1.0.13.127 as the general GRP2670 image and 1.0.15.19 as beta at review. It also requires transition firmware 2.0.15.0 when moving from 1.0.13.x or 1.0.11.x into the 1.0.15.1-or-later beta lane. Do not present the beta as the ordinary target or skip the documented transition.
Record installed firmware, configuration backup, provider or fleet approval, target lane, transition prerequisite, module pairing and recovery plan. A version appearing in the public table is not proof that it is installed, approved, compatible with the selected service or safe to deploy without staged acceptance.
Translate security and provisioning claims into evidence
The datasheet lists secure boot, dual images, encrypted configuration and data storage, TLS, SRTP, HTTPS, 802.1X and several provisioning paths. These controls protect different boundaries. They do not prove the effective administrator password, certificate chain, encrypted call, restricted management surface or trusted provisioning source.
Assign ownership for GDMS or other provisioning, firmware, certificates, exports and administrator access. Verify the loaded server, transport, certificate validation, media negotiation and management reachability separately. Stage provisioning, registration, inbound and outbound calls, caller identity, mute, hold, transfer, voicemail indication, BLF, directories, headset, speaker, expansion modules, restart, network and power recovery, and an approved update. Preserve number and location evidence for the provider-approved emergency validation method without an uncoordinated live emergency call. No GRP2670 or call path was inspected or tested for this reference.
