What it is and why consider it

DP752 is the IP-connected DECT base, not a handset. It holds the SIP accounts, associates as many as five compatible Grandstream DP handsets and sets the system's call capacity. Choose it for a single-cell cordless deployment whose measured coverage and five-call ceiling fit the site.

Resolve the published capacity conflict conservatively

Grandstream's current DP752 product-page feature list says 10 SIP accounts per system, while the comparison widget on the same page says 20. The June 2026 DP752 administration guide says 10 accounts, 10 lines per handset and five concurrent calls. This guide therefore uses the lower, exact-model administration value. Do not quote 20 accounts for a DP752 purchase unless Grandstream supplies a reconciled record for the ordered hardware and firmware.

Pair the handset and base as one bill of materials

A DP735 can associate with the DP752, but the base remains the limiting component: five handsets, 10 SIP accounts and five concurrent calls. The DP735's advertised 20-account and 20-line maximum belongs to its DP755 pairing, not to every compatible base. Record the base model, handset model, radio region and firmware versions together. The DP755 is a separate base branch with up to ten associated handsets, 20 SIP accounts and eight concurrent calls; those limits must not be transferred back to DP752 hardware.

Firmware and provisioning have separate state

Grandstream's firmware table listed general release 1.0.21.33 for the DP750/DP752/DP760 group at this review. It also warns that handset firmware can differ from base firmware and is delivered after the connected base is upgraded. The administration guide says that, once DP-series firmware reaches 1.0.7.5 or later, downgrade to 1.0.4.10 or earlier is unsupported, and that XML configuration format must match its declared version. Treat base firmware, each handset firmware and the provisioning-schema version as separate inventory fields.

Security-sensitive defaults changed by release

The administration guide records that firmware 1.0.21.31 changed default web access to HTTPS, disabled weak TLS cipher suites, set TLS 1.2 as the minimum and disabled SIP profiles by default. Those are release-note defaults, not evidence that an upgraded or restored unit currently has them. Inspect the running configuration, replace inherited credentials and test registration, inbound and outbound calling, transfer, emergency policy and management reachability after the controlled change.

Coverage and acceptance limits

The 400 m, 350 m and 50 m figures are manufacturer maxima tied to named handset pairings, not a site promise. Survey with the final handset, base location, doors, shelving and occupied conditions. Test simultaneous calls at the intended ceiling, roaming within the single cell, shared-account ringing, transfer, battery workflow and recovery after power and network interruption. No independent range, durability, battery, interoperability or acoustic testing was performed for this record.

Add DP760 only as a separately bounded relay

Grandstream's current administration guide documents DP760 association with DP752. The repeater can extend radio coverage but relays at most two concurrent calls and does not raise the DP752's five-handset, ten-account or five-call ceilings. Use the DP760 reference and test association, overlap, handover and local repeated-call load.
