Unlisted fields remain unverified. Platform compatibility and remaining support life require confirmation for the exact ordered model.
Start with the relay role and named base
DP760 extends DECT radio coverage for a compatible Grandstream base. It does not register a SIP account or increase the base's handset, account or total concurrent-call ceiling. Grandstream's current FAQ and administration records name DP750, DP752 and DP755 bases; verify the ordered regional unit and exact base firmware rather than reading DP Series as universal compatibility.
Two repeated calls remain a local bottleneck
Grandstream documents up to two concurrent calls through one DP760. A DP752 can support five simultaneous system calls and a DP755 eight, but traffic crossing one repeater is still bounded by the repeater's smaller relay figure. Map users and busy-hour call paths to coverage zones, then reproduce the simultaneous repeated-call case.
The deployment guide says a DP75x base can support up to five DP760 stations. That repeater count does not multiply the base's SIP accounts or total call ceiling and does not establish arbitrary chaining.
Pair close, then prove overlap at the intended position
Grandstream's installation and deployment guidance places the repeater near the base during association. After pairing, move it to the planned location while retaining enough overlap for synchronization; the deployment guide recommends a distance within 50 metres between repeater and base. Treat that as vendor placement guidance, not a site guarantee.
Use the signal-strength and association indicators plus the base's repeater-status view where supported. An associated status proves neither acceptable audio at the coverage edge nor seamless handover under load.
Choose auto, manual or base-managed association deliberately
Auto association searches nearby bases when the manually configured RFPI option is disabled. Manual association binds the repeater to the intended base RFPI, while repeater-management mode lets a supported base display discovered and paired units. Record the chosen method, base RFPI, repeater MAC and IP address, region, signal and association state.
A unit can retain an old association or scan the wrong environment. Do not factory-reset or dissociate production coverage before preserving the current mapping and an approved rollback.
Keep PoE, local power and network state separate from radio
The quick guide documents PoE through Ethernet or a micro-USB power adapter with Ethernet connected separately. Confirm the exact supply, switch port, VLAN, addressing, time and provisioning path. A lit radio indicator does not prove that the management network or firmware service is reachable, while an IP failure does not by itself prove the DECT relay is unassociated.
Use the PoE reboot diagnostic when the evidence shows real power cycling, and the repeater diagnostic when association, signal, handover or the two-call relay boundary is in question.
Treat DP760 firmware as its own approved state
Grandstream's firmware directory listed the DP750/DP752/DP760 general branch as 1.0.21.33 at review. The DP755 administration guide explicitly says DP755 does not include DP760 firmware, even though it can use the repeater for extended range. Inventory base and repeater firmware separately and apply each model's release and downgrade constraints.
After a controlled update, retest association, signal, handover, one and two repeated calls, provisioning, restart and recovery. No firmware update, range, handover, capacity, compatibility, price or availability was independently validated for this reference.
