What it is and why consider it
DP735 is the rugged mobile user endpoint in a Grandstream DECT system. Its first-party record combines a color display, 3.5 mm headset jack, push-to-talk, proximity and accelerometer sensors with an IP67 and 2.5 m drop rating. Consider it where those protections and controls answer a documented worker need; the base station remains a separate purchase and capacity decision.
Read every capacity claim with its base qualifier
Grandstream's September 2026 handset guide says the DP735 supports up to 20 SIP accounts per handset and as many as 10 handsets when paired with the DP755. The DP752 administration guide instead limits that base to five handsets, 10 accounts and five concurrent calls. Compatibility does not transfer the newer base's capacity to the older base. Size the complete base-and-handset system, not the handset alone. The DP755 base administration guide adds an eight-concurrent-call system ceiling and a first-party conflict between ten and 20 lines per handset; neither the handset's 20-account headline nor the number of associated handsets overrides that call limit.
Treat range, battery and ruggedness as manufacturer ratings
Grandstream lists up to 400 m outdoors with DP755 and 50 m indoors, 65 hours of talk time and 650 hours of standby, IP67 protection, cleaning-chemical resistance, antimicrobial casing and 2.5 m drop tolerance. The administration guide identifies the battery numbers as laboratory data. Verify the relevant ingress definition, approved cleaning method, charging interval, alert audibility, glove use, clip and headset workflow in the actual environment; these claims were not independently reproduced here.
Keep handset and base firmware distinct
Grandstream's firmware directory says DP735 handset firmware can differ from the DP750/DP752 base version and is upgraded after the connected base is upgraded. Inventory every handset version as well as the base version, read the applicable release notes and stage a representative unit before fleet rollout. Do not infer a supported downgrade or a uniform version number from the shared upgrade path.
Acceptance checks for a rugged cordless role
Survey coverage with the final base location and working stock, doors and machinery. Exercise registration, inbound and outbound calls, transfer, hold, push-to-talk, headset use, alert destinations, charging and recovery after base or network interruption. If a sensor or button triggers a safety workflow, document the attended destination, acknowledgement and failure behavior separately; product presence does not validate the operational process.
Evidence boundary
The specifications and limits above come from Grandstream's current product, administration, handset and firmware records. They do not establish merchant inventory, price, remaining support term, PBX certification, radio coverage at a specific site, battery endurance in service or resistance to a site's chemicals and drop conditions. Obtain those records and perform acceptance work before standardizing.
