Unlisted fields remain unverified. Platform compatibility and remaining support life require confirmation for the exact ordered model.
Keep six endpoint roles separate
The 8190S combines a four-speaker line array, LED clock, four-color visual alerter, microphone, illuminated button and I/O in one wall-mounted PoE+ endpoint. Define which roles are commissioned at each location. A time display, successful registration, audible page, visible flash, working button and relay action are separate outcomes.
The standard 8190S and 8190S-IC InformaCast version are different ordering and entitlement paths. Confirm the exact SKU, license and intended management system. Do not transfer an integration named on a product page into an enabled feature on the purchased unit.
Do not turn extension counts into call capacity
The current product sheet lists 50 page extensions, 10 emergency-alert extensions and 10 ring extensions. Those values describe configurable SIP identities, not simultaneous calls, amplifier channels, multicast listeners or emergency capacity. Preserve the exact identity, authorization, priority and output selected for each workflow.
The product sheet lists G.711 µ-law, G.711 A-law and G.722 for SIP, while the multicast codec row also includes Opus fullband. Do not infer Opus support on an arbitrary SIP call from the multicast row. Retain the offer, answer and actual media path for every required call type.
Commission clock, audio and visual output in the room
Confirm the network time source, timezone, daylight-saving rules and recovery after a power or network interruption. The four-color alerter provides red, blue, green and amber output with documented patterns and brightness settings, but the device does not define the site's alert vocabulary. Record the approved meaning, duration, acknowledgement and stop behavior for each used pattern.
Use the placement guide and line-array description as planning evidence, then commission speech, tones and viewing under representative room conditions. Ambient-noise response, talkback and microphone privacy need their own acceptance. A published maximum or certification is not an installed intelligibility, safe-level, accessibility or life-safety result.
Model PoE+, I/O and failure states
The product sheet specifies IEEE 802.3at PoE+ Type 2 Class 0, 25.5 W maximum device power and an idle range that depends on the displayed time. Validate switch per-port and total budget, cabling and startup behavior with the installed model; do not size a shared switch from idle power alone.
The dry-contact input can be configured for normally open or closed operation and supervised states, while the relay output has its own electrical ceiling. Have the responsible controls designer verify the actual button, resistor, cable, voltage, current and failure state. The presence of a terminal does not authorize door, alarm or life-safety control.
Harden default and optional management paths
The October 2026 user guide documents algo as the initial web password and says the status page can be visible without login unless restricted. Replace the default before service, restrict status and administration, and record the authoritative configuration owner. Disable unused ZTP, provisioning transports, REST access, cloud monitoring and other integrations instead of leaving discovery paths active by accident.
Validate server certificates, TLS signaling, SRTP media, mutual authentication, HTTPS provisioning, VLAN and network admission independently. A secure-protocol setting does not prove negotiation, trusted certificates or protection of every call and provisioning leg.
Run bounded acceptance and preserve emergency ownership
On the exact firmware, confirm normal and rejected SIP calls, multicast reception and transmission, priority, page and ring identities, every approved visual pattern, clock recovery, talkback, call button, input, relay, API authorization, management recovery and loss and restoration of network or power. Remove temporary debug output and protect configuration exports, credentials and audio files.
Treat emergency-alert features as components inside an approved design with responsible owners, content, redundancy, supervision, stop controls and drills. No 8190S, firmware, room, wall, bracket, PoE path, PBX, multicast stream, clock, visual pattern, microphone, button, relay, API, protected session, emergency workflow, availability, compatibility, price or audio result was inspected or tested for this guide.
