Where the touch layout fits

The T87W uses a 7-inch 800 × 480 capacitive touch screen and exposes up to 84 one-touch DSS assignments. That creates a different interaction model from the physical line keys on the T85W. Pilot directory search, BLF navigation, attended transfer and recovery from a mistaken touch with the intended user before a fleet decision.

Connectivity and expansion boundaries

The datasheet specifies 16 VoIP accounts, dual-port Gigabit Ethernet, built-in dual-band Wi-Fi through 802.11ax, Bluetooth 5.0 and USB-A plus USB-C ports. It also documents EXP55, USB headset, EHS40 and optional DD10K uses. Each accessory path needs an exact firmware and compatibility check; a listed port is not blanket certification for every headset or expansion combination.

Security controls require deployment work

Published controls include TLS 1.3, SRTP, certificate management, AES-256 configuration encryption, 802.1X, WPA2/WPA3, secure boot and a Trusted Execution Environment. Record which controls are enabled, who holds provisioning credentials and certificates, and how firmware updates are approved. Feature presence does not establish the security outcome.

Current catalogue, not a longevity promise

Yealink's catalogue identifies the T87W as current at review time. This record does not infer a remaining support period, availability, price, platform acceptance or measured audio quality. Optional AMR codecs, power adapter, wall mount and DECT dongle remain explicit options. The emergency-call and dedicated-button features are not represented as emergency-service or life-safety certification.
