Treat it as a microphone as well as a speaker

The GSC3510 is the two-way model: its microphone array and full-duplex audio distinguish it from the one-way GSC3505. Choose locations with both acoustic coverage and privacy in mind. Document who may call, monitor or activate the endpoint and how an occupied area is informed that two-way audio is possible.

The quick installation guide states that Grandstream does not provide emergency-service connections through this device. Do not treat an installed intercom as an emergency-calling system without a separately designed and accepted service.

Separate SIP paging from multicast

The manufacturer documents SIP paging and multicast reception. Its FAQ states that multicast paging can operate without a configured SIP account because the device listens on the assigned multicast address. These are different delivery paths with different evidence: test SIP registration and call authorization separately from multicast address, port, priority and network scope.

Keep multicast contained to the intended network. A page that works on one switch does not prove it crosses routed segments, wireless boundaries or VLANs as designed.

Validate power, network and provisioning

The published interface is a 10/100 Mbps Ethernet port with PoE/PoE+, alongside Wi-Fi and Bluetooth capabilities. Confirm the actual switch budget, VLAN, wired or wireless policy and management method before installation. Record the exact device identifier and firmware rather than treating every GSC35xx model as interchangeable.

The FAQ documents 16 SIP accounts and mass provisioning options. That does not establish PBX interoperability, safe default permissions or a tested configuration for the site.

Run an occupied-space acceptance test

Test page initiation, receive priority, volume, intelligibility, echo, microphone pickup, call termination and recovery after a network or power interruption. Include unwanted-call rejection and confirm that only authorized identities reach the device. Assess the actual room at operational noise levels without exposing private conversation in a shared test recording.

This page uses manufacturer documentation. No device, PBX, PoE switch, multicast network or emergency workflow was tested, and regional availability was not verified.
